Grace Bay Beach

Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

Consistently voted #1 beach in the world. 3+ miles of pristine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. Part of Princess Alexandra National Park. Free parking and entry. Perfect for swimming, snorkeling, water sports. Home to luxury resorts including Beaches Turks & Caicos.

Local Tips
Visit Grace Bay Beach between 7-8 AM to have the pristine stretch almost entirely to yourself. Most tourists don't venture out until 9-10 AM, and the early morning light creates the most stunning turquoise water colors for photos. The beach attendants from the resorts also haven't set up chairs yet, giving you unobstructed access to the best spots.
Park at the public beach access points near Coral Gardens Resort or behind the Saltmills Plaza shopping center instead of paying resort parking fees. These free spots are just a 2-minute walk to the beach and locals use them regularly. Many tourists unnecessarily pay $20-30 daily parking at resort properties when these public accesses provide the same beach experience.
Beach

Leeward Beach

Leeward, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

East of Grace Bay. Less crowded, more secluded. White sand, clear water. Great for long walks and privacy. Gentle waves.

Local Tips
Visit Leeward Beach early morning around 7-8 AM to have the pristine stretch almost entirely to yourself - most tourists don't realize this beach is accessible and stunning before the resort guests wake up, plus you'll get the best lighting for photos with fewer footprints in the sand.
Be extremely cautious of the strong undertow and rip currents on the eastern section of Leeward Beach, especially during winter months - locals know to swim closer to the Beaches Resort area where the water is calmer, as the open ocean side can be deceptively dangerous even for strong swimmers.
Beach

Long Bay Beach

Long Bay, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

Southeast coast with shallow water extending far offshore. Popular for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Less developed, more natural. Beautiful sunrises.

Local Tips
Visit Long Bay Beach early morning (7-9 AM) or late afternoon after 4 PM to avoid the kitesurfing crowds and have better access to the prime spots. The consistent trade winds that make it perfect for kitesurfing also mean midday gets very busy with kite schools and experienced riders.
Be very careful of kite lines when walking along the beach, especially near the water's edge. Kitesurfers' lines can extend 20-30 meters and are nearly invisible - always look up and around before walking through any area where kites are flying, as the lines can cause serious injury if you walk into them.
