Grand Anse Beach

St. George's, Grenada

2-mile crescent of white sand, calm turquoise water. Most popular beach in Grenada. Hotels, restaurants, water sports. Safe swimming, beautiful sunsets. Family-friendly atmosphere.

Local Tips
Visit Grand Anse Beach on weekday mornings before 10am when cruise ships haven't arrived yet. Most tourists come after 11am when the ship excursions begin, so you'll have the pristine white sand practically to yourself for swimming and photos.
Walk to the far southern end of Grand Anse Beach near the Spice Island Beach Resort where local fishermen sell fresh catch directly from their boats around 2-3pm. You'll get lobster, red snapper, and other seafood at a fraction of restaurant prices, and nearby beach bars will cook it for you for a small fee.
Beach

Morne Rouge Beach (BBC Beach)

St. George's, Grenada

Smaller quieter beach south of Grand Anse. Sheltered bay with calm water. Ideal for families with young children. Beach bars and restaurants. Less crowded, more relaxed.

Local Tips
Visit Morne Rouge Beach on weekday mornings before 10 AM to enjoy the pristine sand and calm waters without the crowds. Most tourists arrive after cruise ships dock around 11 AM, and locals typically come in the afternoons after work and school.
Instead of buying drinks from the beach bars, walk 5 minutes up the hill to the IGA supermarket near the main road. You can buy cold drinks and snacks at local prices (about 60% cheaper) and bring them back to the beach - there's no restriction on outside food and beverages.
Beach

La Sagesse Beach

St. David's Parish, Grenada

Secluded beach in protected nature reserve. Golden sand, calm water, mangrove estuary. Peaceful atmosphere, excellent birdwatching. Small hotel and restaurant. Off the beaten path.

Local Tips
Visit La Sagesse Beach on weekday mornings before 10am when the cruise ship crowds haven't arrived yet and you'll practically have the entire beach to yourself. Local fishermen launch their boats early, so you might catch them bringing in fresh fish around 7-8am.
The currents at the eastern end of La Sagesse Beach near the mangroves can be surprisingly strong, especially during high tide. Locals always swim closer to the restaurant area where the water is calmer and there's better visibility of the sandy bottom.
