Stocking Island Beach

Stocking Island, George Town, Exuma, Bahamas

Pristine beach accessible by water taxi from George Town. Turquoise water, white sand. Chat 'N' Chill beach bar. Excellent swimming and snorkeling. Peaceful island atmosphere.

Local Tips
Visit Stocking Island Beach early morning (7-9 AM) or late afternoon (4-6 PM) when the cruise ship day-trippers have departed. The beach is practically empty during these times, especially on weekdays, giving you that pristine tropical paradise experience without the crowds.
Bring your own shade and plenty of water - there's very limited natural shade on the main beach area, and the few palm trees get claimed quickly. The Chat 'n' Chill bar can get pricey for drinks, so locals often bring coolers and set up away from the main bar area where it's perfectly acceptable.
Beach

Tropic of Cancer Beach

Little Exuma, Bahamas

Remote pristine beach at exact latitude of Tropic of Cancer. Crystal-clear turquoise water, powder-white sand. Secluded and untouched. Perfect for romantic getaway.

Local Tips
Visit early morning before 9 AM or after 4 PM to avoid the cruise ship day-trippers who flood the beach mid-day. The lighting is also much better for photos during these golden hours.
Be extremely careful swimming here as there's no lifeguard and the currents can be stronger than they appear, especially on the ocean side. Stick to the calmer lagoon area if you're not a strong swimmer.
Beach

Coco Plum Beach

Great Exuma, Bahamas

Beautiful beach on northwestern shore. Calm shallow water, white sand. Popular with families. Easy beach access. Less crowded than Stocking Island.

Local Tips
Visit Coco Plum Beach early morning (7-9 AM) or late afternoon (4-6 PM) when the cruise ship day-trippers are either not yet arrived or have already departed. The beach is practically empty during these times, and you'll have the pristine white sand and turquoise waters mostly to yourself.
The northern end of Coco Plum Beach has stronger currents and occasional drop-offs that aren't marked. Locals always swim closer to the southern, more protected area where the water stays shallow much further out and is safer for families with children.
