The Princess Cruises Story

Princess Cruises was founded in 1965 by Stanley McDonald with a single ship, the Princess Patricia, offering cruises to Mexico from Los Angeles. The company's early vision focused on creating intimate, upscale cruise experiences that would set new standards for the industry. In 1974, Princess gained international recognition when the Pacific Princess was featured in the hit television series 'The Love Boat,' which ran for nine seasons and introduced millions of viewers to the romance and elegance of cruising. You can book directly through Princess.com, by calling 1-800-PRINCESS, or through a travel agent. A deposit of $100-450 per person (depending on cruise length) is required to secure your booking, with the balance due 76-90 days before departure depending on your itinerary.

Your cruise fare includes accommodations, main dining room meals, casual dining venues, most onboard activities and entertainment, fitness center access, and select room service. Specialty restaurants, alcoholic beverages, spa services, shore excursions, gratuities, and Wi-Fi require additional payment unless you purchase a Princess Plus or Premier package.

Princess features Smart Casual and Formal dress codes. Smart Casual (most nights) means resort wear, slacks, and collared shirts for men, with no shorts, flip-flops, or tank tops in main dining rooms after 6 PM. Formal nights (2-3 per cruise) call for suits or tuxedos for men and cocktail dresses or evening gowns for women.

Gratuities of $15.50 per person per day for interior/oceanview/balcony staterooms and $16.50 for mini-suites/suites are automatically added to your account.
